Indian army on guard against cross-border infiltrators

Tuesday 13th May, 2008
The Indian Army plans a massive operation to weed out infiltrators from areas along the India-Pakistan border after foiling a major terror strike in Samba in Jammu and Kashmir.
Militants who attempted to attack a garrison, 45 km from Jammu, were believed to be part of the group that had managed to sneak into the Indian side last Thursday to kill six people, including two soldiers and a photojournalist, in a gun battle.
A fresh alert has been sounded for the troops guarding the border Line of Control to watch for militants attempting to cross.
Instructions have also been issued for greater vigil against terrorist attacks in crowded areas, army camps and key installations.

Indian army on guard against cross-border infiltratorsI’m glad some country has the sense to put the military on the border. To bad the US doesn’t have the guts to do the same. |
