Israeli animal rights group leads relief effort for Gaza Zoo
Irish Sun Saturday 7th February, 2009
An Israeli animal rights group is behind a relief effort to assist animals in the Gaza Zoo.
The zoo came under attack during the offensive of December and January. A number of animals died while others were visibly distressed from the violence that unfolded.
The Israeli group 'Let the Animals Live' persuaded Ehud Barak, Israel's defense minister, to arrange entry for trucks carrying aid to the stricken zoo.
The Israeli agency said it was a joint-effort with a Palestinian animals welfare group, and other international organizations.
Thirty trucks loaded with oats and hay and medical supplies for the animals have been organized.
Eti Altman, the spokeswoman of 'Let the Animals Live' organization said, 'The collaboration between us and the Palestinians is proof that the animals are not part of the political conflict, and anyone with a bit of humanity left in them, should volunteer and help out.'
'I thank all the organizations and the people involved who contributed to this important project of helping out the animals in Gaza who suffer hunger and diseases. In light of this humanitarian effort I have no doubt we can save many of the animals in the place. I am hoping that through the animals we will be able to draw the two sides closer together.'
The Israeli government charges $170 to $350 for each truck to pass through their check-pints. 'Let the Animals Live' has launched a campaign in srael to raise funds to pay the tolls.

Where do you "Zionist" rank "humans"???This Israeli “State” is so morally degenerate, they are the “baboons that can not differentinate between humans and animals. Who was the one imposing “terror” on children???? Who was the one who mascared hundred of children, and are the ones who destroyed the Zoo. That is Zionist Occupation. |

How can animals be more valuable than human life?Millions of children in the Gaza strip have been denied access to clean and sanitary water, food, and basic human needs for the past two years from the blockade placed on them by the israelis and no one cared to send them shippments of food and water, but animals get sent food and water????
what about these innocent children, why do they have to pay the price???
what did they do to deserve such cruel and inhumane punishement??? |

Love of animals and respect for human life is very sacred I find it very disturbing when the your paper down these words, Best Idea Yet,They should set the animals free and put Humas in the Zoo. How can there ever be peace in the Holy Land or any peace any place else when there is this kind of narrow mindedness towards any of God’s people or creation. My prayers go out to all of those long suffering Palestinians living in Gaza. I pray that Israel will move forward and accept the Arab Initiative and grant the Palestinians a State of their own. The Arab Initiative was agreed upon by 22 Arab countries in the Middle East andin 2002 Israel turned it down and in 2006 Israel turned it down again, so who is really working for peace in the Israel?

Israel is an outlaw sateIsrael is tiny. All the countries around it are not only huge but have huge empty areas. Further a country was already created for the Palestinians it’s called Jordan. — — — — — — — Not true. The UN partition plan gave Israel 52% of historic Palestine and 48% for the Palestinians. Today Israel occupy 92% in total disregard for international law. Besides, Jordan is not part of historic Palestine, only part of what used to be called British mandate for Palestine. Its Palestinian population was kicked out in 1948. |

How is it Israels job to give up what little land it already has when so many have already attacked her and tried to destroy here?
Commons sense dictates Egypt and Syria could snip some off and never motice the loss. |

Thank you for the animals Congratulations and thank you to the Israeli agency and the Palestinian animals welfare group, and other international organizations.
Animals are indeed not responsible of the political conflict.
p.s.: The zoo, as well as a school near it, were used by the Hamas terrorists to launch missiles on Israel soldiers.
The proof is on this video:

Where might this invention called Palestine exist?
Not on any real map I have access to!
Look it up Jordan was created to house the group of people who refused to be Israelis.
They then tried to over throw the government.
Black September try a little education using truth and not revisionist history.
Palestine never was nor will it ever be. |

Man, the most destructive creatures on earthIsreal must donate animals from their own zoo’s to replace thoses they have killed. The Isrealis high officers should come to the Gaza Zoo and physically restore it to what it once was, and don’t forget to bring the materials to rebuild! Then they should personally apologize to all the people of Gaza and their children. I like to think that my new president is not another Bush. Please Obama, you can walk and chew gum at the same time, handle this most pressing matter ASAP for the world is watching with the hope that you can fix this bloody mess. God speed to all and all the little creatures of the world. Peace-out. |
