Abu Dhabi’s National Petroleum Construction Company has been awarded a major engineering, contract for developing an offshore oil platform project in Mumbai.

The Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited of India has contracted Abu Dhabi’s NPCC, an industrial arm of the government, to develop a well platform project offshore at Mumbai High Field.

The contract is valued at $162 million and will involve survey, design, detailed engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning.

The project completion is scheduled for 30 April 2011.
